LATE RAPPER LEAVES SONG LYRICS IN SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS

After struggling with depression South African Hip Hop icon Riky Rick succumbed to his battle with mental illness, and took his own life.
Known for galvanizing and inspiring the youth with his words, Riky Rick's death meant that we didn't just lose a massive musical talent, but also an influential voice, whose words to uplifted those around him. Because he was so intentional with his words reading through his posts felt like reading lyrics to a song he left hidden for us to find. So, we used them to make one last song from him titled “Stronger”.
DON'T SEEK HELP WITH MENTAL ILLNESS BECAUSE OF THE NEGATIVE STIGMA.
DON'T SEEK HELP WITH MENTAL ILLNESS
BECAUSE OF THE NEGATIVE STIGMA.

“Stronger” originated from Riky's final tweet, “I'll return a stronger man”. By extracting the word “stronger”, we encapsulated the core message of the campaign. To ensure authenticity to Riky's essence and South African street culture, we collaborated with a local artist to commission a graffiti tag featuring the word “stronger”. This unique artwork servesas an original piece that resonates across our platforms and creative executions, immersing the campaign in an unmistakably genuine and culturally relevant aesthetic.
